The smell of sage and the pure dry air, the sound of the wind in the pines, the sight of antelope and buffalo grazing on the prairie. Our senses discover the unspoiled West, as we explore the most spectacular scenery of the American Rocky Mountains and enjoy the region’s finest attractions and two wonderful night at lodges in the heart of the park.

Included meals are denoted: Breakfast: B, Lunch: L, Dinner: D

DAY 1

We depart the Albuquerque Sunport and fly northwest. After our arrival and lunch, we explore the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum with our docent.  We check in to the Antler Inn for two nights, freshen up and re-join our group for dinner.

DAY 2              B

After breakfast, we make a short road trip through Grand Teton with several scenic stops at Craig Thomas Discover and Visitor Center, Jackson Lake, Jenny Lake and Menors Ferry. In Grand Teton National Park, the Tetons, with Jackson Lake in the foreground, is one of America’s most beautiful views. An optional Snake River scenic float trip is available. In the evening, we enjoy free time in Jackson.

Yellowstone was America’s first national park. Our Tour Director gives us insights into the natural wonders that we’ll see over the next two days in Yellowstone: Dunraven Pass, Tower Fall, Sheepeater Cliff, Mammoth Hot Springs, Mud Volcano, Norris & Midway Geyser Basins, Firehole Falls, Black Sand Basin, and much more. We head to Old Faithful first thing this morning. We’ll see several other geysers today as we head to our one-night stay at Canyon Lodge.

DAY 4

Today we head west to Norris Geyser Basin, then on to Mammoth Hot Springs, where we stop for lunch on our own. We continue east to Tower Fall and through some of the best wildlife-viewing areas in the park on our way to Grant Village for a one-night stay.

DAY 5              L,D

Today we explore West Thumb Geyser and the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center before heading to Cody. After lunch at Buffalo Bill’s Irma Hotel, we enjoy the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum. Tonight, we enjoy dinner and a show at the Cody Cattle Company.
