DAY 1 D
Arrival in New York City by 3:00 PM. Aside from the baseball, there’s no shortage of things to see and do in New York. And the City’s superb public transportation resources – subways, buses, taxis, (even pedicabs and horse drawn carriages!) – make it easy to visit an unlimited number of attractions. Just within blocks of our hotel however, you’ll find these key spots: Radio City Music Hall, The Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, and more. Tonight enjoy a Trip Reception to give you a chance to meet and greet the host and the other travelers. The reception includes dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. After the reception, former Major League Umpire Al Clark will give you an inside look into big league baseball. You can ask questions and hear stories from the man behind the mask. Then off for an evening of leisure time in the Big Apple. Stay at The Sheraton New York Times Square, New York City, NY.
Friday kicks off with a 1/2 day city tour of the Big Apple. The afternoon will be at leisure before we head to the Bronx to see Yankees vs Phillies at Yankee Stadium. It is a relatively young ballpark, having debuted only in 2009. Its predecessor, the 1923 House that Ruth Built, stood just across 161st Street, and is now a public playground where neighborhood kids can – literally – play ball on the hallowed ground trod by the Babe, the Iron Horse, the Mick, and so many other legends of the game.
In the morning, depart for Boston and enjoy leisure time upon arrival to explore the Boston Back Bay area. This evening it is only a short walk to historic Fenway Park to see the Red Sox host the New York Yankees in., Boston, MA
DAY 4 B
After breakfast, we'll enjoy a 1/2 day city tour of historic Boston and lunch on our own before departing for Albany for the next 3 nights.
DAY 5 B
We depart by deluxe motor coach for the historic Cooperstown. We spend the day enjoying the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and immerse yourself in history of the sport. Family friendly programming at Doubleday Field will feature Hall of Fame members in interactive sessions and discussions throughout the morning and early afternoon, as a prelude to the Saturday afternoon Awards Presentation. The Hall of Fame Awards Presentation will salute the winners of the Ford C. Frick Award for baseball broadcasting excellence and the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball journalism, with the presentation of the awards and speeches from the awardees at Doubleday Field. The Awards Presentation will lead into the Saturday evening Parade of Legends, featuring Hall of Fame members in a parade, which concludes at the front steps of the museum for a Red Carpet Arrival Ceremony. More than fifty Hall of Fame members make the annual trip to Cooperstown to be part of this special weekend. In the evening we depart for our host hotel in Albany, where you’ll get a good night’s sleep, because tomorrow you will witness history in the making. Stay at the Hilton Albany, Albany, NY.
DAY 6 B
After breakfast, we enjoy the scenic ride back to Cooperstown. You can peruse the many shops and attractions in the Village of Cooperstown or spend a few more hours amidst the treasures in the Hall. While downtown you might visit the Cooperstown Bat Company to see how bats are made. That afternoon the highlight of the weekend takes place – The National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The Ceremony welcomes the Class of 2020 to Cooperstown. The Induction Ceremony lasts approximately 2-3 hours. Stay at the Hilton Albany, Albany, NY.
