Join us as we drive north, stopping to enjoy scenic northern New Mexico. A short jaunt across the border takes us to Trinidad, Colorado. Its a quirky town surrounded by glorious mountains, with a past rooted in mining. Visit the Trinidad History Museum. The museum presents the history of the town of Trinidad and the surrounding area in southeastern Colorado. It features a number of attractions on one block in the historic district of Trinidad. These include historic homes, gardens, and local treasures. The museum includes the Santa Fe Trail in its remit since the trail passes through the southeast corner of Colorado. It features several components including the Santa Fe Trail Museum, Baca House and Kitchen Garden, and Bloom Mansion and Heritage Gardens. Take a ride on a trolley around historic Trinidad. The Trinidad Trolley might be the best way to discover Trinidad, Colorado’s colorful sights and sounds during the summer. This free, 45-minute guided tour of town covers the exciting history of the area and points of interest to those who are new to or visiting Trinidad.
This morning, we drive back to Albuquerque, and your tour director will show you the wonderful scenery of the southern Colorado and northern New Mexico as we drive the Highway of Legends Scenic Byway The Scenic Highway of Legends starts at the cities of Trinidad, Aguilar, and Walsenburg and circles the Spanish Peaks. The Byway takes visitors through the San Isabel National Forest and crosses the 9,994-foot Cucharas Pass and the 11,248-foot Cordova Pass. A stop for lunch in Taos and then we are on our way back home.

For your reference, we send to you a detailed itinerary approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the scheduled tour departure. This has day-by-day times and events, hotel information where you can be reached in case of an emergency, and airline information.
The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.
It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.
GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE
The traditional end-of-tour gratuity to your tour director is not included. If you feel your Tour Director helped you enjoy your tour, we suggest you enclose a gratuity in an envelope and present it individually at the end of the tour. Simply as a guideline, one may consider a per person, per day gratuity of $8.00 per tour guide as an average to be modified by one’s own personal experience. All hotel porterage and airport skycap (when available) fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach/livery drivers. Maid tips are not included.
If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.
Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.
We pay close attention to your requests but please realize that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed.

The weather in Southern Colorado is quite cold this time of year with highs averaging in the mid 50's and lows dipping below freezing. Please be sure to bring a sweater and/or a winter jacket, along with good walking shoes and a hat. There are no dress codes for the areas we take you on this tour.
