Day 1 - Geronimo Springs Museum, Hatch, & Welcome

Start your journey off with a departure from Albuquerque via motorcoach. We’ll enjoy a stop at Geronimo Springs Museum in Truth or Consequences, home to the largest collection of prehistoric pottery in Sierra County, New Mexico. View Mogollon Mimbres, Northern Jornada, Chaco, Cibola pottery traditions that date from A.D. 200 to A.D. 1350. Enjoy a delicious New Mexico meal, independently, at Sparky’s in Hatch, renowned for its delectable chiles, before unwinding at the elegant Murray Hotel in Silver City.

Day 2 - Silver City Blues Festival

Immerse yourself in the rhythmic blues and the vibrant atmosphere of the Silver City Annual Blues Festival, a memorable highlight of our two-day tour. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, from there we’ll make our way to the renowned Gough Park, the epicenter of the festival. The Silver City Blues Festival in New Mexico is an annual event that celebrates the rich heritage and vibrant culture of blues music. Nestled in the charming town of Silver City, the festival transforms the local Gough Park into a lively hub of music, dance, and communal joy.

Running for multiple days, the festival showcases a diverse lineup of talented blues artists and bands, ranging from local gems to nationally acclaimed performers. The air is filled with the soulful strains of guitars, harmonicas, and powerful vocals, creating a captivating atmosphere that appeals to music lovers of all ages.

Beyond the musical performances, the festival also features a variety of food and beverage vendors, offering delicious local cuisine and refreshing drinks to keep the crowd energized. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, umbrellas, and sunscreen, ensuring a comfortable experience as they soak in the music and the laid-back vibe of the festival.

Our convenient shuttle service will run throughout the day, ensuring you can come and go as you please, whether you want to catch every act or take a break to explore the charming surroundings of Silver City. Lunch and dinner are on your own, giving you the freedom to sample the delicious offerings from food and beverage vendors scattered throughout the park or to explore local eateries nearby.

Day 3 - Journey Home

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. We begin our journey back home and take a brief stop in Hatch, NM to stretch our legs.

Around noon, we’ll arrive at Turtleback Taphouse & Grill in Elephant Butte, NM, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an independent lunch. Refueled and ready to go, we’ll ho back on our journey home with another break stop ahead until we reach the comfort of home.

ACTIVITY LEVEL

Level 3: Moderate

Expectations: Expect a moderate amount of walking. There will be time to rest on the coach and between attractions. To enjoy this tour, you should be prepared to walk slightly longer distances, climb stairs and tolerate periods of standing, for example on city walks, sightseeing stops or ship excursions. The daily pace and timing can fluctuate significantly between longer and shorter travel days, with additional activities possibly occurring in the early morning or evening. There may be some changes in altitude or temperatures.

Appropriate for: Most travelers beginning with those who are moderately fit, lead semi-active lives, are comfortable participating in long days of activities and expect some physical exertion.

The times listed on the itinerary are all approximate. We cannot be held responsible for schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances with the weather, transportation agents, highway conditions, hotels or contracting agents.

EMERGENCY CONTACT

It is always a good idea to carry on your person a list of medications that you are taking and an emergency contact phone number while you are traveling. And we suggest making a copy of the itinerary and provide it to a friend or family member.

GRATUITIES/ITEMS INCLUDED IN PRICE

The traditional end-of-tour gratuity is included on this tour. All hotel porterage fees are included. We also include the gratuities for the coach drivers. Hotel housekeeping tips are not included.

LODGING REQUESTS

If you would like to request special accommodations at the hotel(s) where we are lodging, please call us as soon as possible and we will forward these requests for you. The phone numbers of the hotel(s) where we are staying are listed on the itinerary.

Many hotels around the country have instituted a "reconditioning fee" of $300 or more that is levied upon a guest that smokes in a non-smoking room. If this occurs during our tour you will be responsible for paying this fee to the hotel prior to check-out.
