New York City is the “Big Apple.” Its wonders exceed expectations – the fantastic skyline, marvelous restaurants, theaters, museums, sightseeing attractions, cultural centers, shops, and architecture. Not to mention, it is the premier, historical gateway for legal immigration to the United States, and a global symbol of freedom and cultural diversity. We explore a cross-section of the city’s fantastic offerings on our 7-day tour.
Included meals are denoted: Breakfast: B, Lunch: L, Dinner: D
We arrive in NYC then transfer to the Crown Plaza Times Square for our six-night stay.
DAY 2 B
Our wonderful NYC guide, Marta Sanders-Cooper, joins us for a guided driving tour of Midtown and Lower Manhattan that takes us past the notable sights of Times Square, Greenwich Village, and Chinatown. During our downtown walking tour, we marvel at Wall Street, the Stock Exchange, and Trinity Church. This afternoon, we visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, which illuminates singular experiences during and after September 11, 2001 and, finally, we take in the panoramic and breathtaking view of the city from the One World Observatory.
DAY 3 B, D
Enjoy a free day to explore individual interests in this fascinating city. Then we enjoy a real treat, a Broadway performance. (Show TBD.)
DAY 4 B
We begin our day with a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty and nearby Ellis Island. We will also visit the National Museum of Immigration and Battery Park, where we’ll learn the earliest history of New Amsterdam, the original name of New York. Our bus then returns us to our hotel.
DAY 5 B,L
Another day of fantastic guided touring with Marta takes us uptown. Lincoln Center, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Columbia University, and the Apollo Theatre are just a few of the sites we’ll see as we travel to and from Harlem. Back in Manhattan, our afternoon walking tour includes Rockefeller Center and the neo-gothic-style St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
DAY 6 B
We enjoy an additional free day to discover unique aspects of this city before our evening performance of another Broadway hit show.
DAY 7 B
After checkout, we are headed to Grand Central Terminal. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the final stop on our Big Apple adventure, then we’re off to the airport for our flight home.
