DAY 1
We depart the Albuquerque Sunport for Louisville.

DAY 2 B,D
We start our day at the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum, home of the most famous baseball bats in the world and in business since 1884, where we will have a guided tour of the factory and explore the museum on our own. Next we visit the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience where bourbon has been made since 1783. We will learn about the distillery and have a tasting. In the afternoon, we will visit Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. We'll tour the racetrack, see the horses fly down the track, and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner.

DAY 3 B,L
This morning we visit the Muhammed Ali Center. The Center’s three levels of award-winning exhibits and galleries invite visitors to explore Muhammad Ali’s legendary life, as well as to reflect upon one’s own individual values, inner strength, and character. We lunch together, then travel to the Louisville Stoneware Factory where handcrafted stoneware has been crafted since 1851. We enjoy a factory tour and have plenty of time to visit the gift shop before boarding our coach for the short ride to Lexington.

DAY 4 B
The Darby Dan Farm is a premier horse breeding and training facility. We tour the farm and meet the championship horses. Mary Todd Lincoln's childhood home offers us insights into one of America's most fascinating First Ladies. Our evening tonight is free.

DAY 5 B,D
After a career as a racehorse is finished, what happens to the horses? We find out today at the Old Friends Farm, a retirement home for horses, each with its own special story. In the afternoon, we visit the home of statesman Henry Clay who served the United States as a Senator, Speaker of the House and Secretary of State. Farewell dinner tonight!

DAY 6 B
We have time for two important stops before we catch our plane home to Albuquerque. The first is the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. This beautiful Beaux-Arts style building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Our final stop is the Ark Encounter, which features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Now we must head to airport, with hearts full of the beautiful Kentucky countryside and fascinating sights we've seen.
