Dig past sand and dive below the surf for some truly unique sights on this upgraded fully guided adventure in Hawaii. Roam around Kauai and Big Island to see sides of both islands, including a guided tour of Waimea Canyon and numerous opportunities to relax in paradise. Your senses will say, "Mahalo."

DAY 1          D

Our morning flight departs Albuquerque for the island of Kauai. After a traditional flower lei welcome, we transfer to our Resort, the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach, for four nights. We have time to walk the beach and enjoy a group welcome dinner tonight.

DAY 2            B, D

Our first full day in Hawaii starts with a Wailua River Cruise to the Fern Grotto, before we visit Kilohana Plantation. The river weaves its way through lush jungle valleys where you can catch glimpses of seven different heiau (temples), waterfalls, and gorgeous natural scenery. After an included lunch we ride a narrated train tour of the plantation. Tonight we celebrate Hawaiian-style with a luau at the hotel.

Day 3            B

This morning we tour Waimea Canyon. Also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea is a large canyon, approximately ten miles long and up to 3,000 feet deep, located on the western side of Kauai. The park itself is famous for its scenic drive, panoramic lookouts, and hikes of varying difficulty. This afternoon and evening is free to explore the hotel, beach or whatever you desire on Kauai.

Day 4            B, L

Today is a special treat as we embark on a Kauai Movie Tour adventure for young and old, movie buffs and nature lovers! You’ll visit many famous sites on Kauai where Hollywood Blockbusters and TV shows were filmed. Lunch is in Hanalei Town.

Day 5             B

Today is another day to take advantage of the beach or other activity at the Resort. After lunch we depart for the Kauai airport where we then fly to the Big Island of Hawaii and check into our hotel, the Royal Kona Resort.

Day 6               B, L

A full-day tour of Big Island’s most impressive and diverse natural wonders, from its volcanoes to its tropical forests to its world-famous black sand beaches. Volcanoes National Park is another highlight, where you’ll learn about Hawaii’s active volcanoes and see their features throughout the park.

Day 7                 B, D

Today is a free day and the on-site possibilities are plentiful. We gather later for a sunset dinner cruise, with amazing views, plus Hawaiian history and entertainment (and possible dolphin sightings).

Day 8 & 9                  B, D

This morning we depart for a four-hour tour of the Island, with stops at the Bay View Coffee Farm - premier plantation for Kona coffee - and the Place of Refuge, a National Historic Park. Tonight, we dine together at a local style Farewell Dinner before we say "Aloha" to the islands and take some of the Mana (Hawaiian Spirit) home.

After an overnight flight, we arrive back to Albuquerque from Hawaii with special memories, photographs, and friendships from these magical tropical islands.
