Experience the Great Lakes as never before on this brand-new cruise on the intimate M/V Victory I. We’ll travel from Chicago to Ontario, with stops at Mackinac Island, Niagara Falls, Detroit and other beautiful ports, as we explore the majestic waterways of Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie.
We fly to Chicago and head to the city’s Magnificent Mile to enjoy its unique sights, savory treats and shopping. We check into our home for the night, the Chicago Hilton. The Victory Hospitality Desk, located in the hotel, can assist with questions about the upcoming voyage to providing suggestions for Chicago dining and sightseeing.
DAY 2 D
This morning enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Chicago. There are plenty of sights to be seen in this city of global commerce and culture. The renowned Art Institute is a short walk away. Chicago invites you to stroll through its canyons of glass and steel, embrace hustle and go anywhere the wind blows. This afternoon we board the M/V Victory I.
DAY 3 B,L,D
Muskegon is an outdoor lovers' haven on Lake Michigan's eastern shore that offers multiple state parks and trails, two paddle sport rivers, 26 miles of beaches and a winter sports park. Maritime history lovers gravitate here to tour the USS LST (Landing Ship, Tank) 393 Veterans Museum and USS Silversides Submarine Museum.
DAY 4 B,L,D
Vacationers adore Mackinac Island for its uniqueness to disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle. Clip-clop rhythms of horse hooves soothe the soul, with not a car in sight. The rich aroma of Mackinac's signature fudge permeates charming shops. Tour the island by carriage and visit Fort Mackinac. Afterward, marvel at magnificent selections on the Grand Hotel luncheon buffet for an included mid-day meal to treasure.
DAY 5 B,L,D
Today the M/V Victory I transforms into a self-contained universe ripe for exploration. Craft your experience as you choose: Kick back on deck to embrace the calmness and spirituality of Lake Huron or take some time to connect with friends in the many public spaces aboard the ship. This day on the lake is all yours.
DAY 6 B,L,D
In Detroit, the Motor City, choose an included excursion to the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Motown Museum, the West Canfield Historic District and other city highlights. Or choose an optional premium experience to explore the captivating history of the automotive industry - and so much more - at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
DAY 7 B,L,D
Majestically situated on the south shore of Lake Erie, Cleveland offers much to behold. Here it’s the world-renowned Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, designed by I.M. Pei. Reflect on the past at Lake View Cemetery, the final resting place of presidents, dignitaries and titans of industry. Choose a tour-de-force optional premium experience focused through the lens of famous films shot in Cleveland.
DAY 8 B,L,D
These waters are home to a vast variety of wildlife - trout, salmon, walleye, smallmouth bass, crawfish, freshwater sponges and sea lamprey, to name a few. That buffet attracts raptors such as hawks and bald eagles and waterfowl such as duck, swans and geese. Relax and enjoy the view on your own time on this peaceful river cruising day. Sip a mid-morning consommé, breathe in the fresh lake air on the upper deck, share convivial conversation with other guests or just nibble on snacks as you look forward to yet another astounding sunset on the water.
DAY 9 B
We disembark our now-beloved ship, the M/V Victory 1, and transfer to our hotel for one night. We enjoy breathtaking Niagara Falls, which attracts millions of visitors each year. How many shimmering rainbows can you spot in the refreshing spray? A narrated driving tour reveals popular attractions such as Whirlpool Rapids, the Floral Clock and Table Rock Park, with a stop downtown.
DAY 10 B
Our trip concludes in Port Colborne, Ontario. With its location on the stunning shore of Lake Ontario, we will have some time to enjoy the city at our leisure. Then we transfer to the Buffalo, NY airport for our flights home, full of memories of America’s grand and glorious Great Lakes.
