Brush off your bowlers and prepare your petticoats as Galveston Historical Foundation presents the 46th Annual Dickens on The Strand Festival. Based on 19th-century Victorian London, Dickens on the Strand features parades, strolling carolers, and non-stop entertainment. Costumed vendors peddle their wares from street stalls and rolling carts with holiday food and drink, Victorian-inspired crafts, and holiday gift items.

Tonight, we enjoy being close to the coast and enjoy a delicious fresh seafood dinner.

This morning starts with a short driving tour of Galveston, an island city with sandy beaches, rich cultural heritage, and beautiful Victorian architecture. We arrive at historic downtown Galveston for the Dickens on the Strand where our Festival tickets give us access to the festival bursting with live entertainment on multiple streets. We can watch the Queen’s Parade, visit the Elyssa & Texas Seaport Museum, or find a spot to people watch and marvel at the holiday festivities. We have our choice of when to return to the hotel. This evening we may choose to enjoy the Pickwick Lantern Parade.
DAY 3 B, D
This morning we are at leisure to return to the Dickens on the Strand festival or relax at our hotel. In the afternoon we explore the Moody Gardens. We can stroll through the peaceful Aquarium, watch “Titans of the Ice Age” at the IMAX Theater, or marvel while at the “Polar Express” in the 4-D Theatre. Tonight, we enjoy dinner at the Gardens before returning to our hotel.

We check out of our hotel and travel to Space Center Houston to learn the history of man’s efforts to conquer and explore space. It has the largest collections of spacesuits and Moon rocks on public display in the world. Too soon, we must board our plane to Albuquerque, filled with the joys of a Dickens Christmas and the astonishment of modern science.
