Also led by Carnivores Safaris, Lucas Minha's company in Tanzania, this once-in-a-lifetime relaxing extension to the tropical island of Zanzibar is the perfect way to finish off your Tanzania experience. During our five night stay on Zanzibar, “The Spice Island”, we take a guided tour of Historical Stone Town, visit spice farms, enjoy the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar, sail on a sunset Cruise, view extensive wildlife, plus much more.
Included meals are denoted: Breakfast: B, Lunch: L, Dinner: D
DAY 1
Instead of flying back to your home city today, we have a special extension planned with Carnivores Safaris. After lunch in Arusha we transfer to the Arusha Airport for our 1 hr flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival into Zanzibar we take a scenic drive to the hotel and relax, before touring Stone Town. Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar and little changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings.
DAY 2 B,L,D
Today is a free day on the wonderful island of Zanzibar. Kick back and relax, go swimming, walk on the beach, go snorkeling, diving or simply do nothing, but enjoy the ocean and relaxed pace of Zanzibar. Snorkeling and diving are optional and we can help you arrange just about any adventure your heart desires.
DAY 3 B,L,D
This morning is at leisure. Before lunch our local guide drives us to Kizimbani Spice Farm, which reveals why Zanzibar is known as the “Spice Island.” Its bounty of cloves, nutmeg, ginger, chilies, black pepper, vanilla, coriander, and cinnamon have found their way around the world for centuries, and its many native fruits and plants and be given an explanation about their uses and special properties. Local lunch at the Farm prepared with all edible spices, This day is really a fantastic excursion that touches on every aspect of Zanzibar.
DAY 4 B,L,D
This morning we enjoy a guided exploration of Zanzibar’s history including the slave trade, a visit to the slave market and the Anglican Church, and learning about Stanley Livingstone. Lunch in Town. In the afternoon we check in at Marumaru Hotel for 1-night stay. In the evening enjoy a “Dhow” sunset cruise on the Indian Ocean as the perfect way to bid farewell to the experience and memories of Tanzania, followed by dinner at one of the restaurant facing the Indian Ocean.
DAY 5 B,L,D
This morning is free to explore Stone Town on your own if time allows based on your departing flight. Enjoy dayrooms at the Marumaru Hotel until your transfer to the airport for your International flights back home.

DAY 6 B,L,D
We land back in Albuquerque the following morning, with warm memories of our amazing tour to Tanzania and Zanzibar!
