There is good reason why California attracts millions of visitors from around the world. We are entranced by the breathtaking and diverse landscapes, from lakes high in the mountains to giant sequoias. This tour features iconic American national parks like Yosemite and Sequoia, with overnights in the parks, and also explores beautiful Lake Tahoe.

Included meals are denoted: Breakfast: B, Lunch: L, Dinner: D

DAY 1

We fly to Fresno and transfer to our deluxe motorcoach. We check into our Fresno hotel for one night.

DAY 2              B,L

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head to Kings Canyon National Park.  Some of the world's largest trees, deep valleys, and distinctive rock outcroppings create stunning landscapes for us to explore. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch while we drive. We stay at Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park for one night.

DAY 3              B,D

There's something magical about Sequoia National Park, where we are surrounded by groves of the world's largest living things. And some smaller ones, too, like red-tail hawks and yellow-bellied marmots. We walk the General Grant Grove Trail to the General Grant Tree, America's Christmas Tree. We enjoy dinner together tonight.

DAY 4              B

Today we experience the iconic World Heritage site, Yosemite National Park, located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Famed for its giant ancient sequoia trees, Yosemite has also become internationally known for its glaciers, granite domes, waterfalls, grand meadows, spectacular valleys and biological diversity. If you feel adventurous, there is an opportunity for hiking for any activity level. We check into our hotel for two nights.

DAY 5              B

Our morning is free to explore Yosemite independently - we might take a hike with a guide or just stroll on our own. This afternoon, we enjoy a tour of the Yosemite Valley Floor with a guide.

DAY 6              B,L

Today we drive to Lake Tahoe, stopping to enjoy special views of Mono Lake on the way.  We lunch together before our free afternoon to enjoy the views of Lake Tahoe or the excellent shopping.

DAY 7              B, D

We explore the Trukee Donnor Memorial today on a scenic drive with stops along the way for historic sites and gorgeous views. Tonight is our farewell dinner.

DAY 8              B

Our thoughts turn toward home, so we head to Reno for our flight back to Albuquerque, our hearts filled with the gorgeous sights of Yosemite and Sequoia.
