Branson’s reputation as a top vacation destination is well-earned. The museums and other attractions we will visit are as diverse as the live theatre we will attend. Ethereal Thorncrown Chapel, five great shows in Branson, and two important attractions in Oklahoma City, round out this tour to the breathtaking Ozark Mountains.
Included meals are denoted: Breakfast: B, Lunch: L, Dinner: D
We drive east across the plains of New Mexico and into Oklahoma. We lodge one night in Oklahoma City.
DAY 2 B,D
We continue to Bentonville. We stop as we drive at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art where we celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature! The fresh air of the beautiful Ozarks surrounds us.
DAY 3 B
We check out of our hotel and continue our exploration of Bentonville. We experience The Momentary, the newest part of the Crystal Bridges Museum Complex, then move on to the Peel Mansion Museum & Heritage Gardens. Later, we reach Branson, where we lodge three nights. This evening, we'll enjoy our first show!
DAY 4 B,L
Our first stop this morning is the World's Largest Toy Museum. This afternoon, we see another great performance. This evening is free - we can enjoy another performance or explore Branson on our own.
DAY 5 B,L
Our day has a nautical theme as we visit two ships. The Titanic Museum, built at half-scale to the original vessel, houses 400 Titanic artifacts. In the afternoon, we board the Showboat Branson Belle for a show, 3-course meal, and cruise on Table Rock Lake! We enjoy our last show in Branson tonight.
DAY 6 B,D
We leave Branson and head to Eureka Springs. First we'll stop at Thorncrown Chapel. Nestled in a woodland setting, Thorncrown Chapel rises forty-eight feet into the Ozark sky. This magnificent wooden structure contains 425 windows and over 6,000 square feet of glass. This charming town has flair like no other town. Streets are lined with Victorian homes hugging cliff sides, and the entire downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places. We will lodge one night at the 1886 Crescent Hotel. Tonight we'll enjoy a buffet dinner before the Great Passion Play.
DAY 7 B
We depart our hotel and begin our quest for home. There's so much to see along the way. We stop at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks. Then we explore the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. We continue southwest to our hotel in Del City, OK.
DAY 8 B
We return to New Mexico with memories of the great performances, the gentle beauty, and friendly people of Branson and the Ozarks.
