DAY 1            L

We drive south from Albuquerque along the Rio Grande. In Willcox, we visit the Chiricahua Regional Museum, which features the history and culture of the Chiricahua Apaches from Cochise to Geronimo to their time as prisoners of war. Also featured are a variety of exhibits including Willcox town history, military, cattle ranching, and rocks and minerals. We lodge one night in Willcox, AZ.

DAY 2              B, L

We tour the grounds of Faraway Ranch, restored homestead of pioneers Neil and Emma Erickson. We emerge from the mountains, and then stop at Amerind Museum, an archeological research facility and museum. We lodge three nights in Sierra Vista, AZ.

DAY 3              B, L

After our included breakfast, we travel a short distance to Kartchner Caverns. Here we’ll enjoy guided tours of the amazing caves.  After lunch, it’s time to step back in time with a visit to Tombstone, where we can ride the trolley through the park and enjoy free time.

DAY 4              B, D

Today we visit the old copper mining town of Bisbee. Bisbee is a city in the Mule Mountains of southeast Arizona. Both the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum and the Bisbee Restoration Museum chronicle the city’s copper-mining past. The vast Queen Mine offers underground tours but be sure to bring a sweater. Homes that once belonged to miners run up Tombstone Canyon from Old Bisbee, the historic town center.  We’ll enjoy guided tours with a local guide, and free time for viewing and shopping before enjoying our farewell dinner buffet.

DAY 5              B, L

Today we’ll make our way back to Albuquerque but enjoy a few stops and a delicious lunch on our way.  We return home with great memories of southeastern Arizona and its amazing history and beautiful scenery.
