This lovely cruise will fulfill our dreams of the Caribbean.  We’ll overnight in Ft. Lauderdale, then board the beautiful Emerald Princess.  With stops in Jamaica, Cartagena,  Costa Rica, Grand Caymans and a visit to the Panama Canal, this is the warm weather, blue water cruise we’ve been dreaming of.

DAY 1

We depart Albuquerque on our flight to Fort Lauderdale, where we’ll overnight.

DAY 2              B, D

This morning we have time to explore Ft. Lauderdale.  This afternoon we board the Emerald Princess and begin our cruise.

Day 3               B,L,D

We sail in waters off the coast of Florida and south. Perhaps we’ll start our vacation with a massage in the spa or lounge by the pool.

DAY 4               B, L, D

Docking today at Falmouth, Jamaica, we find gorgeous landscape with lush green mountains, underground caves, balmy waters, white-sandy beaches, delicious rum drinks and so much more. Perhaps we’ll spend an afternoon snorkeling and discover the beautiful marine life of the Caribbean Sea while swimming among the fish, coral communities, mangrove forests, and seagrass beds.

DAY 5              B, L, D

Another relaxing day at sea. We sail through the blue waters, enjoy the sun or visit with friends.

DAY 6              B, L, D

We port today at Cartagena, Colombia. Located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, in the northwestern part of the South American continent, the city has several archipelagos and islands around that are paradises. Cartagena brings together the charm of colonial architecture, the excitement of a vivid night life, fascinating cultural festivals, and lush landscapes.  The secrets of history rest within this walled city, on its balconies, and in the narrow stone walkways that inspired author Gabriel García Márquez.

DAY 7              B, L, D

Today we explore the Panama Canal. While we don't do a complete transit through the canal's huge locks, we can still begin to understand what a modern wonder the canal is.

We further develop our understanding of the Panama Canal with a visit to Cristobal, Panama.

DAY 8               B, L, D

Today we explore Limon, Costa Rica, one of the most pristine and lush regions of Costa Rica.

Roughly 125 miles of shoreline between Nicaragua and Panama boast picturesque white-sand beaches lined with coconut trees for an ultimate tropical paradise. As one of the country's most geographically diverse regions, Limon features everything from mangrove wetlands to towering mountains.

Day 9             B,L,D

At Sea

Day 10             B,L,D

Living up to its name in every sense, Grand Cayman fuses arts with culture, and nature with wonder, to produce the perfect atmosphere. On the west side of the island is award-winning Seven Mile Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand with infinite possibilities. Meanwhile, the North Sound is home to a neighbourhood of stingrays that’s so big, we call it a city.

Day 11             B,L,D

Our final day at sea finds us headed north back to the U.S. coast.

Day 12

We leave our ship but not our memories of the beautiful sights, tastes and sounds of the Caribbean , as we return home.
